Malton Bacon Factory are now the only unbeaten side in the premier division of the Leeper Hare York and District League after Dunnington went down to the only goal of the game at Kartiers.

After having the better of most of the game Dunnington were undone when Graham Cannon unleashed a long-range shot which took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net.

The Factory side had little difficulty in beating the young Riccall side with Lee Dunning netting their first goal as early as the second minute.

Simon Collins made it 2-0 after half hour and goals from Darryl Craggs on the hour-mark and Nigel Allen with 20 minutes to go wrapped up the points.

Rufforth switched their game to Pocklington because of cricket commitments at Rufforth and were thumped 6-0 for their efforts.

They managed to keep the current champions down to one goal in the first half, but the floodgates opened after the interval, with Neil Wilford (2), Brent Terry, Mick Murr, Scott Silburn and Neil Durkin scoring.

Bishopthorpe entertained Old Malton with both teams showing many changes from last season's line-ups.

Malton had the better of the opening half hour with Paul Boyes and Phil Hill looking dangerous.

But neither side were creating clear-cut chances until the 35th-minute when a Bishopthorpe throw in was intercepted by Hill and he raced away unopposed to beat the Bishopthorpe 'keeper.

Bishopthorpe settled after the interval and began to create chances.

After a spell of pressure in which they hit the crossbar they were awarded a penalty which Greg Fitzmaurice duly netted.

Their joy was short lived as, straight from the kick off, the lively Boyes restored the Malton lead from close range.
