IT WILL be a family affair when Keith Dunsire and his daughter, Hannah, take part in the Great North Run in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
The pair, of Copmanthorpe, York, were prompted to put on their running shoes by Hannah's brother Paul, 19, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and uses a wheelchair.
Hannah could be the youngest competitor in the 13.1-mile race, because she turns 17 on the day, October 6, making her just old enough to compete.
They are both aiming to finish in two hours 15 minutes, and, although neither has entered the race before, they have completed a 12-mile training run.
All money raised by the pair will go towards the campaign, which investigates muscle wasting diseases and also cares for sufferers.
University of York student Paul is studying history. He lives at Vanbrugh College during the week with the help of several carers and returns home on Fridays.
