ALL this striving by women to be honed and toned to sizes 8/10/12 (Jo Haywood, Evening Press, September 24) can make larger women (including me) feel absolutely enormous. After reading about Liz Hurley, I thought I must be the biggest person in York - if not the country.
I bought a new pair of trousers in a 'suitable' large size which John (Jean-Pierre in his fashion designer's hat) pronounced: "a bit of class gear".
However, they came up to my chin and flapped over my feet. I don't think the clown Charlie Carolli-look is for me, unless I get longer shoes, so I'm either having a refund or buying a couple of long scarves for winter. If you believe folklore, the plentiful autumn berries are forecasting cold weather.
