There's big money up for grabs north and south tomorrow, with the £150,000 Betabet Two-Year-Old Trophy taking pride of place on Redcar's most important programme of the year, and the £120,000 Tote Cambridge-shire Handicap forming the highlight of the fourth and final day of the Newmarket fixture.

Tim Easterby has tremendous prospects of bagging his second jackpot prize at Redcar with Somnus, who last month at Doncaster won the £147,000 St Leger Yearling Stakes for his three lucky owners.

That form has worked out particularly well and Somnus, previously successful at York and Ripon, is clearly an above-average juvenile, still on the upgrade.

Monsieur Bond, closely matched with the Great Habton gelding on two previous clashes, will be fancied to gain his revenge after his cracking effort in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury last time, while Sharplaw Venture, winner of a valuable sales race at Ascot, and Tout Seul, a four-times winner, add further fascinating elements to this six-furlongs dash.

But Somnus is expected to emerge triumphant for the Tim Easterby stable and provide the Classic-winning trainer with yet another bumper pay-day.

Also worth noting at Redcar are recent Musselburgh winner Rose Of America (1-55) and the in-form Be My Tinker (4-45).

A total of 35 horses will line up for the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket, which is always such a popular betting medium with punters.

My nap vote is awarded to Beauchamp Pilot, who has been specifically laid-out for the race by trainer Gerard Butler.

The four-year-old has won a couple of races this season, but has also enjoyed some bad luck. He unseated his rider and bolted loose to the start before finishing third in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot, and he appeared to be given too much ground to make up when a strong-finishing fourth at Ascot's Shergar Cup meeting on his latest appearance.

Easier ground than he'll get tomorrow would have suited Beauchamp Pilot even better, but he looks sure to be there or thereabouts under the excellent Eddie Ahern in a wide-open race, in which last week's Ascot winner, Zonargem, is the red-hot favou-rite.

Timing, whose saddle slipped at Ayr last time, had previously run a cracking race in defeat at Haydock. Tim Easterby's filly is worthy of attention in the Greene King Sport of Kings Promotion Handicap.

The useful Sheriff Shift, a Thirsk winner two outings ago, should go well in the NGK Spark Plugs Nursery, while the promising Soldera can step up on her debut success by winning the Oh So Sharp Stakes for the in-form trainer-jockey partnership of James Fanshawe and Oscar Urbina.
