NEW Earswick All Blacks showed their strength in depth by hammering Mirfield 38-8 in the Gordon Teale White Rose Trophy, despite leaving out seven automatic selections.

Although Mirfield play two divisions below Earswick, they have won all their games this season and looked tricky opposition on paper, especially as the All Blacks coaching team went without the likes of Alan Pallister, Mick Ramsden, Dean Thomas, Jamie Daniel and John Leach.

But after All Blacks went in front on eight minutes when Adie Robinson dummied over, Andy Daniel converting, they never looked back.

On the next attack, Nick Massingam took on the defence from 40 yards and won the race to the line, Daniel converting.

Mirfield replied with a quick try before All Blacks took over, with the game's outstanding player, Lee Nelson, sending Steve Perks over.

Just before half-time Tommy Coomber put Perks into a gap and he raced through for a second from half way.

Mirfield went over early in the second half but All Blacks hit back as Steve Sullivan powered over from 20 yards, Daniel converting. On 68 minutes Nigel Tyreman put Jo Jo Hnesh over and the scoring was completed when Pete Nowell slipped a pass out for Tyreman to score, Daniel converting.
