A MAN was punched in the face and robbed of cash and credit cards after being attacked by two young muggers in a York street.
The victim had just walked into Walmgate from Lawrence Street when he was confronted by the muggers, one said to be aged 14, the other 17.
They barged into him "aggressively," police said, and then started talking to him.
A York Police spokeswoman said: "At this point one of them punched the victim on the nose and asked him to hand money over. He gave them a small amount of cash and his credit cards."
The younger mugger was said to be about 5ft 3in and slim. He was wearing a light-coloured baseball cap and a light shell-suit top.
His older accomplice was about 5ft 7in, with a round face and cropped brown hair.
The mugging happened at about 11pm last night. Witnesses are asked to phone the police on 01904 631321.
