GEORDIE solicitor Ann Laverty has left her beloved Newcastle to become a partner at Philip Ashworth and Company in York.
Ann, 34, will be in charge of the commercial property department at the legal practice in The Mount.
She leaves Robert Muckle solicitors in Newcastle after five years, latterly as an associate partner and commercial property specialist. Before that she was with Ward Hadaway in Newcastle, also for five years.
Ann attended Essex University then spent a year studying French law in Strasbourg before returning to the UK to continue her legal training at Royds Treadwell, in London's Fleet Street. She has now moved to Heworth Green with her partner, IT consultant Stephen Smith.
Senior partner, Philip Ashworth, said "Ann's appointment will strengthen the firm's ability to assist clients in major property deals throughout Yorkshire."
