City of York Ladies suffered their first North League defeat of the season, losing 1-0 at home to unbeaten Timperley.
After early York pressure, Timperley scored from short range on ten minutes following a good advantage played by the umpire.
The goal seemed to deflate York, who gave a lack-lustre display for the remainder of the first half, despite good work by Jaquie Birch and Karen Howells.
York were encouraged when Timperley's 'keeper was forced into a fine save from Pam Rowbottom soon after the break.
Sally Sleightholme also went close but a well organised defence denied York further clear-cut opportunities, while York 'keeper Dawn Hopkins and Sam Binns defended well in a game as close as the score suggests.
St Johns Ladies I continued their impressive form as Liz Wilcock netted four times in a 5-1 win at Bingley Bees II.
All the goals came in the second half with Bingley opening the scoring, but within minutes Wilcock equalised and from then on St John's were in charge, their other goal coming from Vicky Humble to complete a comfortable win.
After a dreadful start, Nestl Rowntrees overcame Malton to win their York and District League match 4-2.
Malton took the lead but Nestl equalised with a great shot from Vanessa Walker.
Malton edged ahead just before half-time but after the break they were swept away by as Rowntree's Margi Charlson netted a hat-trick.
