City of York V lost 5-3 at King-ston upon Hull in a ding-dong match.

York twice went ahead, through Dave da Silva with a good team goal and then James Still after some pressure, but Hull twice responded.

The hosts went ahead early in the second half but York came back well and, after failing to convert several short corners, equalised with a well-taken short corner from Sam Blackburn.

Hull then notched two goals in quick succession and, although they continued to play well, York couldn't come back.

After a bright start against Ben Rhydding V, City of York VI conceded two goals before half-time and lost 2-1.

York raised their game in the second half and a counter-attack brought a goal for Neil Reader.

York maintained the pressure but were unable to score again and are

still seeking their first league win.

Undefeated City of York VII were 1-0 down at Tadcaster II but some reorganisation and an inspired Damian Greig half-time team-talk saw them turn it round to win 2-1.

A fierce strike from the sideline led to a superb two-touch finish by Ben Foster, and after a period of sustained pressure man-of-the-match Mark Lambert ran rings around the defence and sent the 'keeper the wrong way for the winner.

City of York VIII struggled to find their early season form and found it hard work against Rotherham.

City were unlucky to go into half-time 1-0 down, but in the second half Rotherham's fitness helped them notched five more goals, York's only reply coming from Tim Downy.
