Harry Hogarth, a newcomer to the training ranks, returns to the scene of his first win tomorrow and could well double his score with Keiran in the Jayne Thompson Memorial Novices' Chase at Sedgefield.

Hogarth, a farmer who lives near Stillington and who has owned and bred horses for some years, was thrilled when Keiran, who he bought earlier this year, scored at Sedgefield a couple of weeks ago.

The eight-year-old jumped well and, although he had little to beat, he did his job in pleasing style under Tim Easterby's smart conditional rider David O'Meara, who has the mount again tomorrow.

Keiran has more on his plate under a penalty this time, but he is napped to oblige again for Hogarth as he strives to enhance his reputation as a trainer.

Tom Siddall has booted home a couple of winners recently and this highly capable claiming rider teams-up with his mother Lynn - a trainer near Tadcaster - in the Paddock Bookmakers Handicap Chase.

The pair will be represented by Silent Snipe, a winner two outings ago, and a horse in good form at present. He should go well for the family firm.

Minster Bay will be a popular choice in the Northern Racing Maiden National Hunt Flat Race.

Wilf Storey's four-year-old finished a good second at Sedgefield on his debut a fortnight ago and will have benefitted from that experience.

He is selected to go one better this time in the hands of Graham Lee.

The John Wade Skip Hire Selling Handicap Hurdle will not take much winning and Nichol Fifty looks capable of defying top-weight.

The Noel Wilson-trained gelding, who has been running on the Flat this season, has been in decent form in recent months and a spin over hurdles four weeks ago should have teed him up nicely for this modest contest. Fergus King, who is good value for his 7lb allowance, takes the mount.

Over The Hill, a Sedgefield winner earlier in the month, can score again for Norton trainer Simon Magnier in the Sedgefield Amateur Riders' Handicap Hurdle. Andrew Tinkler has been booked to partner this former hunter chaser.

Ace Irish jockey Ruby Walsh travels to Stratford, principally to ride for powerful West Country trainer Paul Nicholls.

Walsh's trip should not be in vain. He has good prospects on several mounts, including the well-regarded Bunratty Castle (2.00), and the well-handicapped Garruth (3.30).

The Augmentis Handicap Chase, with £10,000 in prize money, is Stratford's feature race and this could well be won by Avanti Express.

Although in the twilight of his career, the 12-year-old underlined his well-being with a recent win on this course. Barry Fenton takes the mount tomorrow when Avanti Express is fancied to double up.
