I WAS saddened to learn of Vera Hornshaw's death. I first met her 20 years ago when, as a member of Trinity Methodist Church, I got involved in Trinity Dramatic Society.
She was always jolly, had a smile and a cheery word for everyone and was forthcoming. She acted in a number of plays, notably Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, in which she played the role of Madame Arcarti. We all thought - move over Margaret Rutherford!
Vera also wrote a few plays herself for the society, and I had the honour of playing in those - once as leading man.
Many were touched by Vera's great personality. Her memory will live in our hearts.
