MORE than 300,000 copies of the Reporter, the guide to North Yorkshire County Council's services, are now hitting homes and businesses across the county.

The twice-yearly publication has a new revamped magazine style, and the current issue not only gives updates on the activities of the council, but also offers the chance for readers to participate in a new transport survey, enter competitions, and provides useful information such as an A-Z guide to council services, and information on winter plans for the county's roads.

Developments for schools are also covered, as well as recycling in the county, better access to services through new technology, and the modernising of services for older people.

Councillor John Dennis, executive member for communications, said: "I hope readers enjoy this latest edition of the Reporter. We have striven to produce a publication that is user friendly and hope that readers find it informative.

"It's vital that we communicate with the people of North Yorkshire, and the Reporter is a major tool in letting people know what we are doing and how we are tackling problems."
