TRADING standards officers from York have taken part in a project which has led to a warning to consumers and the Government about confusing labelling for minced beef.
Officials from across the Yorkshire region, including those from York, sampled minced beef to check on fat in products.
They found in some cases products described as lean or extra lean contained more fat than ordinary minced beef. One sample described as lean contained 23 per cent fat.
