HARROGATE Town returned to the winning trail in the UniBond League premier division last night as they returned from Gainsborough Trinity with a 2-1 victory.
Town, who had suffered four straight league defeats interspersed with two FA Cup wins, overcame their mid-table placed rivals with an encouraging display.
Skipper Robbie Whellans showed his worth when netting Town's first goal, while tricky midfielder Colin Hunter doubled Town's tally for the night.
Lee Ellington found the net for the hosts, but it was not enough to stop John Reed's men from taking three much-needed points.
The win sees Town move out the bottom three, leapfrogging Gateshead into 20th spot in the table.
