YORK residents have the chance to learn all about the adventures of the ruthless seafarers who fought their way across the north of England more than 1,000 years ago - and they can do so at cut-price cost.
They can gain half-price entry to top city attraction Jorvik between now and next spring, thus gaining the chance to find out much more about the Vikings who ruled the city all those centuries ago.
York residents need only bring along their York Cards to Jorvik in Coppergate, along with proof of York residency - such as a utility bill - which will enable them to gain half-price entry to the popular attraction from today until March 31, 2003. "Now is the time when people often have friends and family to stay and visiting local attractions is often high on the list of things to do," said a Jorvik spokesman.
Jorvik is open daily from 10am. For further information contact Jorvik on 01904 543403 or visit the website at www.vikingjorvik.com
