THREE of York City Baths Club's rising stars have been at Loughborough University for the first training camp as part of the British Swimming World Class Potential Individual Medley programme for 11-year-olds.

Hannah Petts, Sophie Calpin and Chris Burns were selected following excellent performances at this year's National Age Group Championships in August.

Three further training camps will take place at Leeds, Sheffield and again at Loughborough over the next six months.

Seven YCBC swimmers were in Sheffield representing Yorkshire and Humberside Schools (Division Three) at the ESSA National Swimming Championships.

Rachel Stotten, Jenny Hoggard, Lewis Porylo, JJ Blackwell, Sarah Benton-Rose, Robert Kinnell and Alice Sunderland. all won selection following the Division Three championships held at Hull.

A large team of York swimmers attended Harrogate for the Junior Open Meet, returning with a medal haul of 15 gold, ten silver and 16 bronze medals.

There were a total of 107 swimmers finishing in the top eight with 127 personal best performances.

In the BAGCAT awards, going to the top swimmer in each age group, Alice Lawrenson finished first in the 13 years age group.

Rachel Eastaugh was second in the 11 years section and third place went to Sophie Glasby (10yrs), Lauren Mason (13yrs) and Andrew Fowler (13yrs).

Other medalists were: Rachel Eastaugh (three gold, silver), Sophie Glasby (two gold, two silver, bronze), Lauren Mason (two gold, silver, bronze), Andrew Fowler (gold, two silver, two bronze), Michelle Moffatt (gold, silver, two bronze), Alice Lawrenson (gold, silver and bronze), Lauren Horsman (gold), Alex Fowler (gold, bronze), Jessica Craig (gold), Fiona Siddall (gold), Laura Cuttill (gold), Eilidh Macdonald (silver, bronze), Kate Hollier (silver, bronze), Bradley Swainston (two bronze), Hannah Waterfall (two bronze), Sammy Poulter (bronze) and Chris Holmes (bronze).

Top eight finishers included: Ashleigh Husband, Gareth Thomas, Anna Longjaloux-Ball, Olivia Houghton, Chloe Loft, Philip Graves, Stephen Clark, Olivia Lawrenson, Stephanie Oliver, Lucy Recchia, Will Peeke-Vout, Luke Hutchinson and Matt Reed.

Other York swimmers achieving personal best times: Victoria Graves, Alex Mortimer, Matthew Holmes, Philip Darby, Sarah Preston, Laura Seaman, Matthew Tasker, Dani Horsman, Claire Kilmartin, and Anna Chaplin.
