THE North Yorkshire business tycoon who owns a profitable food chain has once again had a bumper pay year.
Sir Ken Morrison, the pioneer of Wm Morrison supermarkets, has weighed in to the top ten of Yorkshire earners.
The 70-year-old, who lives in Myton-on-Swale, near Boroughbridge, scooped £2.851 million in earnings last year, according to the Sunday Times pay list.
Sir Ken is a new entrant to this year's nationwide list - at 255. But he was tenth in the Yorkshire earnings list and top of North Yorkshire tycoons.
Earlier this year, in a different cash poll, Sir Ken was revealed to be worth approximately £1,300 million.
The Sunday Times pay list examines earnings over the past year - income in ready cash, either from salaries, dividends or share scales.
Those included must earn at least £1.537 million in the year up to September 30 to be entered on the list.
