I WAS pleased to see that Mark Loveley enjoyed the Byan Ferry concert at York Barbican Centre (Letters, October 30). His is just one of many appreciative comments we have received from the audience who attended that evening.
I also appreciate his frustration at people only being able to dance at their seats or at the foot of the stage.
York Barbican Centre is a flexible venue where we can host either fully seated or standing events - but it is always the event promoter who specifies which arrangement they would like. On this occasion we were instructed that it was a seated only event (and we understand all the other venues on the tour had seating too).
Where promoters ask for our recommendation we are always happy to give advice and please be reassured that we do, whenever possible, bear in mind the audience's wishes to dance at gigs!
