Parting Shot, a runaway winner at Musselburgh yesterday, turns out again at Doncaster tomorrow with excellent prospects of ending his season on a really high note.

The gelding, trained by Tim Easterby, goes for the Ellis Decorators Lady Riders' Championship Handicap with the experienced Annie Elsey, a Malton vet, on board.

Easterby and Elsey combined forces to land the prestigious Queen Mother's Cup at York in the summer with Bollin Nellie.

Parting Shot underlined his well-being with a fluent Redcar win last month, and he confirmed that impression with an impressive succcess yesterday.

Always travelling well in the hands of Richard Quinn, the four-year-old bolted clear of his rivals entering the final furlong to win by six lengths.

A 5lb penalty should not be enough to anchor him tomorrow, and Parting Shot is fancied to take all the beating.

The £12,000 Auker Rhodes Sick As A Blue Parrot Conditions Stakes over the St Leger distance of one and threequarter miles, offers Pole Star the opportunity to gain an overdue success.

A creditable fourth to Persian Punch in the Jockey Club Cup at Newmarket last month, James Fanshawe's charge takes a drop in class here and is selected to benefit. Pat Eddery has the mount.

William Haggas could hold the key to the Gibson Booth Fillies' Stakes with Sundrenched, the mount of Michael Hills.

Although she has failed to live up to lofty expectations this season, Sundrenched remains a talented performer and she would not have to improve much on her recent second to Dusky Warbler to lift this 10-furlongs event.

Gerard Butler sent out two juvenile winners at Musselburgh yesterday and it would be no surprise to see the trainer follow-up with the promising Shield in the BWD Rensburg Stakes.

Eddie Ahern, aboard both the Butler scorers in Scotland, has the mount on this once-raced colt.

The Dransfield Novelty Company Handicap over five furlongs looks a wide-open affair, especially on the prevailing heavy ground.

Chispa will not be inconvenienced by the conditions and indeed, should relish the mud. The Karl Burke-trained sprinter, capable on his day, will go off at a big price and could well spring a surprise. He is napped to do just that.

Over the jumps at Hexham, Silver Knight is worth another chance in the Sanyo Novices' Hurdle after his below-par run on his hurdling bow at Haydock.

Tim Easterby's useful 'bumper' winner never really got into the race at Haydock, but should have benefitted from the experience. Remembering the ability he showed on the level last season, he should not be written off yet.

Kieren Fallon is certain to win the 2002 jockeys' championship.

With the Flat turf season's final meeting starting at Doncaster tomorrow he cannot be caught by nearest rival Richard Hughes.

Fallon, with 143 winners so far this season, is 17 clear of Hughes.
