MAN'S first walk on the moon, England winning the World Cup, and the beginning of the world itself, are just some of the major historical events which will be re-enacted as part of the sixth annual York schools' dance festival.
Youngsters will be dancing out the memorable moments during the festival, organised by the City of York Council's arts service. it will include performances from 18 primary and secondary schools, along with groups based at Canon Lee School and Millthorpe School. Janetta Maxwell, City of York Council arts service dance consultant, said: "The pupils taking part not only have a huge sense of achievement from the thrill of performing in front of their family and friends, but it increases their confidence, gives them team-working skills and everyone involved in the festival has a lot of fun."
Performances will take place at the University of York's Central Hall, on Saturday and Sunday (November 23rd/24th), starting at 2pm. Tickets can be bought for £3 or £1.50 by phoning 01904 554666.
