A 35-YEAR-OLD former pub employee has appeared before York magistrates accused of a £30,000 theft and other offences.
Jeffrey Parvin, of no fixed address, is charged with stealing the money from the owners of licensed premises in Blossom Street in August, 1999. He also faces allegations that he obtained money by deception on July 26, August 9 and August 13 in the same year.
Magistrates decided the case was too serious for them to deal with and directed the prosecution, represented by David Garnett, to prepare committal papers.
John Howard, defence solicitor, made no application for bail and Parvin was remanded in custody.
He will appear via vieo link before the magistrates on November 28.
