MORE than 100 youngsters are set to hotfoot it around a York village on Saturday, to raise funds for their new football ground.
Members of Poppleton Junior Football Club will be taking part in a fun run, which will set off from the village's community centre, as part of their ongoing campaign to raise cash for their new pitches. The club, which has 277 boy and girl members, bought a ten-acre site in Millfield Lane in June to develop into purpose-built pitches for its under-sevens to under-16s teams, but it still has to raise thousands of pounds to see its "Millfield Ground" dream come true.
Anyone who would like to help with donations should contact chairman Phil Richardson on York 795981 or 07836 727205.
