A WOMAN was dragged along the street as she struggled with a ride-by bag snatcher in York.
The victim was walking along Rawcliffe Lane, in Clifton, at about 4.45pm yesterday, when the thief struck.
As he rode past her and grabbed her handbag from her shoulder, the woman held on to the bag and was pulled to the ground. She was dragged along for a short distance before she was forced to let go. Police said the woman was not injured but was left shaken. The thief, who was said to be "a tall teenager wearing a woolly hat", rode off along Reighton Avenue.
Police are seeking witnesses, particularly the driver of a white van which drove past the scene at the time of the attack.
Anyone with information should call police on 01904 631321.
