Scarborough's assistant manager Mark Patterson has left the club by mutual agreement.
The much-travelled 37-year-old, who was club captain last season, joined manager Russ Slade shortly after he took over some 12 months ago, but has only played a couple of games this season.
Patterson, who lives in Darwen in Lancashire, was thanked by chairman Malcolm Reynolds for his efforts for the club in the last 12 months.
"Mark has been a big influence at the club, but the daily travelling from his Lancashire base was proving to be very time consuming."
It is thought Slade will not rush into announcing a replacement for Patterson, as he has three very experienced players in his squad who can ease the coaching burden.
Nicky Henry, Keith Scott and David Holdsworth, who has recently joined the club, will all be able to provide valuable support to Slade.
