CALLS for an urgent review of Pickering's emergency plan as a result of the threat of terrorist attacks have been made to the town council.
Coun Arthur Aslett, who is also a member of Ryedale District Council, said people in Pickering wanted to know what facilities were available and where, in the event of an attack.
Other councillors supported his request that the existing plan should be updated, and Coun Gaynor de Barr offered to obtain information from North Yorkshire County Council on the plan. "It is in need of updating not just because of a terrorist threat but in the event of other emergencies such as floods, a serious road accident and severe weather," she said.
