As a member of the Tadcaster Chamber of Trade, the lorry ban mentioned in the Evening Press ("Tadcaster truck ban row flares up again", November 14) will not affect my business directly, but the comments made by Coun Roy Wilson, that we will only lose 'a miserable bit of trade', is an insult to my fellow chamber members.
Their businesses will be affected directly by this HGV ban. The people of Tadcaster do not want this ban, and we the chamber and Coun Jean Ashton have been campaigning against it for almost two years now. So why isn't Coun Roy Wilson listening to those who actually live and work in Tadcaster?
Andrew Usher,
Tadcaster Chamber of Trade,
Dorchester Road,
Tadcaster.
