YORK RUFC Under-11s maintained their unbeaten record as they cruised through the opening group stage of the Yorkshire Cup at Harrogate.
York opened up with a 7-7 draw against the hosts, having led 7-0 for a long spell through a converted penalty try.
Having got their toughest game out of the way, York proceeded to take apart Moortown 35-0 and Old Leodensians 21-0.
York's try scorers were Charlie Nicholson (3), with one each for Ben Hepworth, Jack Bass, Dudley Snook, Toby Spark and Aaron Thompson. Thomas Brown and Spark converted four tries apiece.
Incisive running by Charlie Nicholson and Dudley Snook and powerful forward play by Ben Hepworth and Josh Igoe were key features for York.
York won the group, by scoring more points than second-placed Harrogate. Both go into the next round of the competition.
