AS the Prime Minister is now aware, Operation Ratcatcher is two-thirds of the way to being a tremendous success.
As we reported yesterday, the anti-crime campaign backed by the Evening Press has led to a flood of tip-offs from residents.
Police have already acted on some of this information, making arrests and seizing stolen goods. If this excellent progress is translated into convictions, Ratcatcher will be a triumph.
The initiative has already re-engaged the people of York in the fight against crime, and worried the city's criminals.
All in all, an excellent month's work.
