FOLLOWING the article about the delay to bring rail halts to Haxby and Strensall (October 30), has consideration been given to the following?

Is it anticipated to use the existing train services to and from Scarborough by inserting two extra stops to some, or all, of such services?

Passengers from Scarborough and Malton would not welcome an extra seven or eight minutes' journey time to York and the possibility of a later connection.

Is it intended to have train units to cater specifically for York-Haxby- Strensall and returning to York? This would entail introducing a rail cross-over at Strensall if one does not already exist and possibly providing extra train units.

Is there sufficient land available near the proposed Haxby and Strensall stations to make car parks? This would depend on numbers likely to use the service.

Has a survey has been carried out to discover the possible use?

It seems likely there would not be sufficient numbers willing to drive to the respective stations, park up, take the train to York station and be faced with a walk or a local bus journey to their destinations.
