A TEENAGER who died after a crash on a North Yorkshire road at the weekend was the son of the county's deputy chief constable, it has emerged.
James Peter Leslie Walker, 17, from Bedale, died in the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, after the crash on Saturday evening.
He was the son of North Yorkshire Police's Deputy Chief Constable, Peter Walker.
The teenager was injured when the Toyota Corolla he was driving was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus on the B6268 Bedale to Masham road.
The two occupants of the Focus, a 47-year-old woman from Hertfordshire and her 15-year-old daughter, were released from the Friarage Hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
