MEMBERS of York Lions Club say a big thank you to the people of York who generously donated £4,703 during York Lions Club's annual appeal held over recent weeks.
As well as a collection day in the city centre on October 26, residents from the villages of Appletree, Strensall, the Poppletons, Stockton Lane and Dringhouses areas, Haxby and Copmanthorpe all put their hands in their pockets and purses to raise this tremendous total which helps York Lions fund the under-privileged children's Christmas party held at Yearsley Bridge centre and the senior citizens' luncheon held at St Olave's School, as well as funding many other community needs.
