POLICE in East Yorkshire are appealing for information after two women were affected by CS gas during a night out in Bridlington.

The women were at The Loop Pub, on Boxing Day, at about 10.30pm, when they suffered feelings of panic and dizziness due to what is thought to have been CS gas.

A spokeswoman from Humberside Police said it was not thought the gas was sprayed directly at the women, but somewhere in the pub. The identity of the person with the gas was not known.

A gas canister found in the pub contained some CS gas. It was black, white, red and blue with a French flag on the front.

The two women - one who was 31 and from Leeds, and the other who was 37 and from Bridlington - suffered dizziness and feelings of panic, but were not taken to hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Humberside Police on 01262 502700.
