YOUTHS dreaming of a white Christmas frolicked in foam after the fountain in Parliament Street, York, was filled with bubble bath.
The fountain, which for a number of years provided the base for a large Christmas tree, was only recently brought back into use, after a long refurbishment programme to make it skateboard-proof.
Over the years it has been a regular target for pranksters and has often had bubble bath or other foam preparations added to the water.
On a number of occasions coloured foam has been produced.
The latest incident produced so much foam that it spread for a considerable distance from the fountain, well into Market Street.
