BISHOPTHORPE provided the Leeper Hare York and District League premier division shock of the day by beating championship contenders Malton Bacon Factory 2-1.

The inclusion of Jack Bolton in midfield seemed to do the trick and their victory was more comfortable than the scoreline might suggest.

An own goal after half an hour set them on the way they managed to hit the cross bar twice before half-time.

Carl Young made it 2-0 ten minutes into the second half and although Nicky Drew managed to find the net for The Factory 20 minutes from time, The Bishops held on to their advantage until the final whistle.

Riccall celebrated only their second win of the season after trouncing Rufforth 4-1.

Phil Jones opened the scoring for Rufforth after only five minutes but Riccall's efforts were rewarded when Gary Poxton equalised after 30 minutes.

After the break, Kevin Kozicki and Peter Minto put Riccall in front, while substitute Damon Scott struck the fourth with ten minutes remaining.

Pocklington maintained their quest to retain the title with a 3-1 home win over Crayke.

Andy Green struck early in the game and Crayke conceded the second when a challenge by Richard Millet forced a defender to head into his own net. Neil Wilford rounded the keeper and squared the ball for Millet to net the third goal before half-time.

There was some consolation for Crayke 15 minutes from time when Richard Williams placed a diving header into his own net.

Old Malton took the lead twice at Dunnington but the home side fought back through Andy Rose and Ben Small and took the game in the last 15 minutes when Dave Chandler and Simon Wood found the Malton net.

Wigginton Grasshoppers gained a valuable win at Kartiers where John Alcock struck the only goal of the game on the half hour mark.

Huntington travelled to Osbaldwick and paid the price for missing early chances as they lost 4-3.

The home side seized the initiative with two goals from Danny Leach and one from Steve Jackson before Nick Fenton managed to score for Huntington five minutes before the break.

Jackson bagged a fourth for Osbaldwick which turned out to be the match winner as the visitors closed the gap with goals from Paul Downes and Chris Dower.

Wigginton Black Horse and Post Office continue to set the pace in division one.

Wigginton overcame Haxby & Wigginton 3-1. Chris McFee scored the only goal of the first half and, despite a Chris Dyson equaliser, two goals in the last 20 minutes from Anthony Luck secured the points for Black Horse.

Post Office entertained struggling Fulford and left it late to ensure the win with two goals in the last three minutes.

Alex Livey (2), Andy Bonarious (2) and a Richard Wells penalty provided the Postmens' goals while two from full back Lee McCardle counted for Fulford.

Thorpe United were held at home by New Earswick after they spurned too many chances.

New Earswick took an early lead before Thorpe then had a man sent off early in the second period but this spurred them on to a fight back with goals from Gavin Clamp and Dean Wood.

However, Earswick refused to buckle and managed another goal to claim a point.
