A BLOODSTAINED motorist knocked on the door of a house seeking medical help after crashing his car on a North Yorkshire road early today.
The man had crashed his grey Mini Cooper on the A661 at Spofforth, south of Harrogate, at about 2.30am.
The householder called an ambulance and the driver was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with serious head and chest injuries.
Police later found the mini in a field by the side of the road with "substantial" accident damage.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to phone the police on 01423 539474.
