KEVIN Hopper won the final frame to earn York first team a 3-3 draw away to Wakefield II in division three of the Yorkshire Inter-City Snooker League.

Although York captain Tim Hart was first to strike in the opening frame with a break of 27, his Wakefield opponent L Payne hit back to win 75-36. Hart was never in with a chance in the second frame. Payne made two breaks of 39 and won the frame 92-13.

Kevin Gall pulled one back for York when he pinched a long opening frame of his match against Wakefield's I Bennett on the black to win 92-13. In the second frame Gall made a 37 break after Bennett had scored steadily. After a tussle on the black Bennett set Gall up to take the frame.

Kevin Hopper lost his opening frame against C Hall, who potted a long, tricky black to win 45-43. Hopper produced some good attacking snooker in the final frame and won easily 57-55 to gain York a 3-3 draw.

York's next match is at the Cueball Club, James Street, on the weekend of February 22-23.
