YORKSHIRE Water is to undertake essential sewer work on the A19 at its junction with Burton Stone Lane in York.
The work, which is due to start on Monday, will take approximately one week to complete. During the course of the work, the A19 will remain open but traffic lights will be in place to control the flow of traffic in the area.
This is to ensure the safety of both motorists and workers while the project is being completed.
The traffic lights will be in place at the junction with Burton Stone Lane between the hours of 7am and 7pm, under an agreement with City of York Council.
Yorkshire Water field engineer, Lenka Rushby, said: "We're carrying out some vital emergency work in the area and apologise for any disruption whilst this is taking place.
"I would like to assure residents that we will do everything we can to keep any disruption to a minimum and stress that the work will not affect the water or sewerage services in the area."
