AN UNUSUAL fundraising event that was not for the faint-hearted was held in York.
Lizards, snakes, spiders and other exotic creatures were available for people to handle and hold at a special event on Saturday arranged by the Wilf Ward Family Trust. Lucy Faulkner, an expert from Leaping Lizards, in Tang Hall, York, took specimens along to the event.
There was also a presentation and an opportunity to ask questions.
Debbie Lewin, of the trust, said it was a fun and unusual way to raise money for a good cause.
There were also refreshments and a raffle at the event, at the trust's local office, in Green Lane, Acomb, York.
