YORK City Knights player-coach Paul Broadbent has warned his players not to be 'one-match wonders' ahead of next weekend's grudge match with Doncaster Dragons.

The Knights returned to training last night following their historic 32-12 Arriva Trains Cup win at Sheffield Eagles on Sunday, with Broadbent stressing minds must now turn to Doncaster.

"The big question is are we going to be a side that does it one week but not the next, or are we going to be producing it on a weekly basis," he told the Evening Press. "I hope it will be the latter.

"We can have a lot of enjoyable times in the future if we produce the consistency we've been working hard to achieve.

"I don't see reasons why we can't do that."

The Knights will be hoping it's third time lucky against Doncaster next Sunday having already played them twice this season.

The double-header between the teams last month saw the Dragons win 24-4 in the Arriva Trains Cup match at Belle Vue and 21-20 in a Challenge Cup thriller at Huntington Stadium seven days later.

As for whether the Knights' confidence will be boosted by Sunday's win, Broadbent added: "We will see next week. We needed to get that confidence back and hopefully we've got it.

"But I don't want the guys falling into a trap thinking that one game makes a season.

"You can enjoy what you've done for a day or so but we will have to look at things, put that win aside and get into hard work building up for next Sunday's match."

Hooker Lee Jackson was to see a specialist after suffering a recurrence of a back problem on Sunday, while centre Gareth Lloyd tweaked a hamstring. Both are doubtful for next Sunday's match but physio Pat Howdle said: "Fingers crossed they will both be okay."

Carl Stannard, already out with a long-term knee injury, was to see a specialist this week amid fears his season might already be over.
