A BRAND new purpose-built £500,000 home for York Guns will be opened on March 26 by actor Clive Hornby - Jack Sugden of YTV's Emmerdale - who is a keen shooter.
It marks a major step in the business which was started 23 years ago by John Smith as a local one-man gunshop and now employs ten people.
Already all the stock of firearms has been moved from the shop's old base in King Street, York, to the super-secure investment - bristling with security and surveillance systems - in Common Road, on the outskirts of Dunnington village, and it is now trading.
York Guns is the first commercial venture to be built by Fox Oak Properties on the new two-acre site at Fox Oak Park site which is ripe for development.
