A TRAIN company has launched a campaign encouraging people to visit North Yorkshire race courses.
Legendary jockey Willie Carson launched Arriva Trains Northern's Back A Winner campaign as the new flat season got under way at the weekend.
Passengers who travel to the races by rail can receive a discount for entrance at York and Thirsk races.
Race fans can also secure cut-price entry at Doncaster, Beverley, Hexham, Newcastle and Redcar. Willie, who scored a career total of 3,828 winners, said: "I am supporting Arriva's 'Back a Winner By Train' campaign because it's an excellent way to introduce people to racing.
"With the £3 discount on entry to race courses across the North of England, and a
£3 bet voucher, it saves you a few quid, and means you can really soak up the atmosphere of the day perhaps by having a few drinks!"
