It is a case of back by popular demand for two Pickering plays.

Members of Pickering Dramatic Club delighted audiences last year with their production of Last Tango In Little Grimley and Last Panto In Little Grimley, so they are taking to the road next week and heading for some of the county's far-flung villages.

Betty Graze, whose husband, Bernard, will be on stage as an odd job man, said the two one-act comedies had been a runaway success when the club first performed them.

"It's been done before in Pickering, but it was so funny and everybody loved it.

"The club thought they would do the villages because they don't always get plays in them." The evening's entertainment centres on a down-at-heel dramatic club, with no money and only four players left.

But Mrs Graze said: "That's where the similarities ended - Pickering's club is enjoying much more success."

Last Tango In Little Grimley and Last Panto In Little Grimley will be performed at Rosedale School on Tuesday, April 1; Hutton-le-Hole village hall on Wednesday, April 2; on Thursday, April 3, the players will be in Terrington Village Hall; and finishing at Pickering Memorial Hall on Friday, April 4.

Tickets cost £5 (£4 concessions) on the door and all performances start at 7.30pm.
