A YOUNG York drama student is one step closer to a place on the catwalk beside Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer.
Nicola Pittman, 19, of Bootham, has won her way through to the regional final of a competition organised by a top model agency Premier Model Management.
The York College student could win a contract with the company, which acts as an agent for the two supermodels, as well as a role as the face of the Bar Med caf bar chain.
Nicola, a former Tadcaster Grammar School pupil, said parts in amateur dramatic performances had helped to build her confidence for modelling.
She said: "I would love to go on to a modelling career, but it's expensive and you need an agency to represent you to have a chance."
The Yorkshire regional final of the contest will take place at Bar Med, in Parliament Street, Harrogate, next Wednesday.
