I WAS sad to read the obituary for David Hughes (April 2). I met him when he was involved with the proposed Friends of York Central Library.
He was enthusiastic and worked hard to keep our small group together.
It failed, but on meeting him later he contacted someone to help me with a project I am undertaking.
I shall miss him and his smart, gentlemanly ways. My condolences to his wife, Mildred, and his family.
