With five wins in their last seven games, Scarborough have found their form again - but the disastrous run of six successive defeats a couple of months ago leaves them well short of a play-off spot.

For the second successive week, Boro's diminutive striker David Pounder scored two goals to seal this easy 3-0 win over visitors Forest Green.

His first effort was described by Forest Green manager Colin Addison, the ex-Boro boss and former York City star striker, as 'the goal of the season'.

Pounder cut in to unleash a superb angled drive into the top corner of the net after only 42 seconds of the game.

Five minutes later he volleyed his second from close range and the game was effectively over.

Andy Woods blocked an Alex Meechan penalty with his feet after David Ridler had handled a cross and the visitors' threatened revival was snuffed out.

Cleveland Taylor missed a couple of chances but he showed a clean pair of heels to a couple of defenders five minutes into the second half to score with a low crisp effort which nestled just inside a post.

Scarborough have conceded just one goal in the their last four games - at newly-promoted Yeovil - while they have evolved an entertaining and attractive counter-attacking style of play.
