Cygnet 'A' have left their surge for honours in York John Smith's Ladies League division one a bit late, but their impressive recent form saw them polish off Tap 8-1.

Wendy Smith started the rout with two tons for 24 darts. Angie Powell also scored two tons and closed 83 with treble 17 double 16, while Dawn Exton threw three tons. Sue Tate prevented the full house.

Roz Kerr hit two 140s in the singles and a pairs maximum to show up as Palace's best performer in a 6-3 over Flag, whose lone singles winner was Chris Jackson.

Jo Hodges included 120,100 for 22 darts which gave Clifton an unassailable 5-1, lead at Independent, whose Maggie Tottie starred.

Babs Harrison found three tons as Phoenix beat Slipper 5-4, Jane Wright-Clair Cooper sealing it, while Cue Ball snookered Britannia 7-2 and Slip were seen home by Jackie Clemit-Claire Robinson in a close 5-4 battle with Cygnet 'B'.

Leeman 'B' lie in second place in division two, having a greater win ratio than Holgate, after a resounding 7-2 victory over close rivals Britannia 'B' who were given the ideal start by Chris Garbutt then Alison Buckley. But Clare White (124,100) checked Britannia's burst and began a winning run in which Toni Smallwood (140,100) stood out.

Carol Price-Lauren Dowson secured Holgate a 5-4 win against Shepherd 'A' and Shepherd 'B' had Paula Sowden seizing the opener, but Burton WMC hit back. Janet Harris instigated a victory roll and Jackie Ridall made it 5-1.

Jackie Gray-Linda Abley secured Leeman 'A' their 5-4 against Blacksmith's, while Clifton coined all the pairs for a 6-3 win against Severus, whose captain Glynnis Simpson made an exit on bull.

Tang Hall WMC are holding onto the division three top spot by the skin of their teeth. They were taken to the wire by Leeman 'C' whose Shelagh Kenny brilliantly won playing a lone pair hand, to give them the edge. Ann Barker-Sue Skinner set up the decider which saw Barbara Ward-Mavis Rawcliffe seal victory.

Vaults recovered from last week's demise to overcome stiff opposition from Old Ebor and join Burnholme in second place. Vaults raced to a 3-0 lead before Audrey Allan and Michelle Stott put Ebor on the sheet. However, Yvette Shepherd restored composure then Terri Corney-Fran Holmes made sure of victory.

Puss 'B' beat Mitre 6-3 to spoil their quest for honours, while Puss 'A' chalked up the first five before Laura Harwood replied for Reindeer. She then combined with Zoe Clapham to win their only one point.

Audrey Carling-June Miller settled Cue Ball's 5-4 at Mount
