John Dunlop, flying high after a flood of recent winners, including 1,000 Guineas hope Khulood in yesterday's Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket, can keep up the good work at Ripon tomorrow.

A new valuable Listed race at the Yorkshire course, the £32,000 Ripon Silver Bowl Fillies' Stakes over six furlongs, seems perfect for Dunlop's Medeena, the mount of John Carroll.

A succesful juvenile, Medeena started the current season winning by a clever half-length under Kieren Fallon at Leicester two weeks ago.

More will be required tomorrow, but there is every chance that Medeena is capable of producing extra.

Dunlop can score with Ayun in the £15,000 Ripon Cock O' The North Handicap. A lightly-raced filly, Ayun absolutely trotted-up at Bath a couple of weeks ago, winning, easing down, by five lengths from Desert Flame.

She has more to do in this handicap, but is clearly in excellent heart and is not one to overlook. Willie Supple has the mount.

David Loder is another trainer worthy of attention at Ripon. The Newmarket handler saddles the potentially useful Excellento in the Skelton Maiden Stakes. The three-year-old showed bags of promise when runner-up in his only juvenile outing.

Jamie Spencer, who partners Excellento, also teams-up with Roger Charlton's recent winner Ski Jump, who will surely make a bold bid in the Copt Hewick Handicap.

Battle Chant should make a bold bid in the Macau Jockey Club Craven Stakes at Newmarket.

Ed Dunlop's colt ended last season in style with two rock-solid wins, at Chepstow and Pontefract, and seems at home on fast ground, which is what he's facing here.

Chris Thornton's small Middleham stable gets few chances to raid Newmarket, but Quicks The Word has fine prospects of winning the Exning Handicap.

A good second at Newcastle three weeks ago, Quicks The Word should make a determined bid, carrying a feather weight and is awarded my Nap vote. Smart apprentice David Kinsella has the mount.
