FAR from having weapons of mass destruction, the Iraqis had only weapons of very limited destruction.

With no answer to coalition air power and only a few antiquated tanks and ineffectual rocket-propelled grenades to halt coalition armour, Iraqi forces were no-hopers.

Why some people considered the threat of Saddam Hussein was the equal of that once posed by Adolf Hitler is a mystery.

However, some of the post-"victory" remarks of the American administration will have caused the leaderships in Syria and Iran to worry whether America may have a similar annexation policy to that of pre-war Germany.
