Wilberfoss made sure of promotion from Leeper Hare York and District League division three with a point at Norton.

But mathematically they still need five points from their last four games to clinch the championship after Selby RSSC won again.

Norton took the lead in the second half through Stuart Ellis, and Olly Newby equalised.

Selby RSSC had, on paper, a much easier win at home to Heworth but the visitors were leading 2-1 at the break with two goals from Jamie Allerton.

The goals flowed for the Railway club in the second half and they ran out 6-2 winners. Paul Stephenson led the way with a hat-trick and there was a goal apiece for Andrew Jones, Gordon Campbell and Jason Chalkley.

Moor Lane played their penultimate match at home to Strensall and won 2-0 with goals from Andy Innes and Danny Yates, but Strensall were unlucky not to take a point after Mick Pipe hit the woodwork twice in the second half.

After having led the table for most of the season Moor Lane look likely to finish third but, crucially, their last match is at Selby RSSC, who are their biggest threat to promotion.

Marton cum Grafton were unlucky not to share the points in their home game with Hemingbrough. Joe Ratcliffe and Mark Livsey netted first half goals for the visitors with a Nick Westbury strike in reply from the home side, who also missed a penalty and an open goal before the break.

Jon Brear equalised for Marton in the second half but Richie Collins stepped up with the Hemingbrough winner with three minutes remaining.

Rawcliffe Rangers celebrated after a Jason Bryan goal in the 25th minute gave them a surprise 1-0 win over fourth in the table Amotherby & Swinton, but it was a solid defensive display lead by veteran Frank Carlin which was the key.
