MINSTERMEN midfield maestro Stephen Brackstone has indicated the passion within the York City squad, by voicing the players' pledge to scrap all the way for a play-off place.

Despite being held to a goalless draw by Kidderminster, Brackstone feels the squad cannot be too disappointed with a point and that all is still to play for in the tricky ties against Exeter and Oxford.

"It was a very tough game against Kidderminster, and we were unfortunate not to get a victory in the end," he told the Evening Press. "Looking at the way things are going at the end of the season, this is still a point gained.

"Of course we are disappointed not to have won the game in the end as we have had our chances, but obviously a point gained is better than none at this stage.

"We are still trying to scrap away and get into the play-off spots, everything is still tight in the table so the lads are going to keep going right to the very end.

"We've two very tough games to finish with, but they have all been tough so far. Exeter are fighting for their lives, while Oxford will be wanting to dent our play-off push, but we will be going for it."

City can be thankful of Brackstone's two interventions on the line to secure the point against the Harriers, with a header in the first half and a despairing sliding tackle to scoop the ball clear with just seven minutes left.

But Brackstone admitted he was just glad to see the second clearance go out and away from the on-coming Inderpaul Khela.

"I was worried that I might kick the ball at their lad and it rebound in, but I just managed to get it clear for a corner," he added.
